Club Green

FIRA's Club Green is the environmental legislative update service for the furniture and wider timber industry. The scheme helps you fulfil your requirement s to keep abreast of environmental developments as required by ISO 14001 (environmental management systems) and the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP).

Club Green takes an integrated approach to the challenge of environmental improvement. It is a cost effective means of tracking and interpreting the latest legislation, sharing knowledge and developing industry wide solutions to facilitate legislative compliance.

Club Green can be tailored to your needs with membership starting at only £250 per year.

An industry specific manual is supplied, detailing the legislation that is pertinent to your business – no more wasting time trawling through reams of irrelevant information to find what you need. As a member, you will also have free access to our experienced environmental consultancy team via a dedicated help line.

You will quickly notice the benefits to the bottom line of good environmental practice.. Work in the furniture sector has shown how much variation between companies exists with regards to key issues.

For example, a survey of 72 manufacturers showed that the cost of wood waste varied from <1% of turnover up to 10%, with an average of 5%.

If the worst performer had reduced its waste to the industry average, it would have enjoyed a bottom line benefit equivalent to a 50% increase in sales. This benefit would have accrued year after year.

In addition to these benefits you will receive a comprehensive guide on how to implement an EMS.

FIRA’s Club Green service – the environmental update service that helps you reduce your environmental impact whilst improving your bottom line performance.
