FISP welcomes new members
Over the last three months, FISP, the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme, run by FIRA, has welcomed a number of new members into the scheme. These include:
- Bene plc
- Egan Reid Stationery Company Limited
- ISU Ltd
- Knightsbridge Furniture Productions
- Paula Rosa Kitchens
- Symphony Group plc
- Southerns Office Interiors Ltd
Launched in 2006 to support and improve the furniture industry's sustainability credentials, FISP has rapidly become established as the industry forum on all environmental and sustainable issues.
Jonny Westbrooke, chief executive of FIRA, said: "Increasingly, tenders and retail specifications are asking a supplier to prove that they have sustainability at the heart of their operations. FISP is the easiest way of demonstrating this, and can be used as a valuable marketing tool to differentiate a business from its competitor. We're delighted that more and more companies are recognising its value."
Focusing not only on environmental issues, but also purchasing, end of product life, social and community issues, FISP membership can also offer cost savings and production efficiencies, improving a member's competitiveness.
